Josh Rosen keeps showing up for his work voluntarily despite facing an uncertain future in Arizona.
While Kliff Kingsbury made it very clear that he won’t address anything regarding the draft Tuesday, the new Cardinals coach could not say enough good things about Rosen. He sounded pretty genuine in his praise.
“I think Josh has done everything possible humanly to show what type of quarterback he is, what type of a competitor he is,” Kingsbury said, via Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic. “I have been saying it all along, I couldn’t have been more impressed with his approach. He is a great player. He was a top-10 pick for a reason. You can see out there how cerebral he is and how quickly he has picked up our system. I was really impressed with his execution on Tuesday.”
Rumors that the Cardinals will draft Kyler Murray No. 1 overall and trade Rosen have been flowing. However, that hasn’t stopped Rosen from going about his business.
Rosen has impressed the Kingsbury with how quickly he has picked up on the new coach’s up-tempo offense.
“I just think that there is a misconception about him,” Kingsbury said. “He is confident in himself. He is very smart, and I think people may take it as arrogance at times. But he is a very confident young man, and he asks the right questions. He is very cerebral, and he works at it. I have really enjoyed working with him.”
It has to be seen how much longer does Kingsbury work with Rosen. We all will find out soon enough with the draft only a few days away.
Rosen is Kingsbury’s quarterback for now.
